Everything about maison is how we like to dine; from the food and wine we serve, to the ambience and vibe we like to create. It’s about taking your time and sharing moments with friends and loved ones, and enjoying dining out. The name, the concept, the brand was just a dream until we found the right building. ‘maison’ is OUR HOME and we are opening our doors for you to step inside and share in this experience with us: Ben (chef) and wife, Lornette.
The stage for all this magic is on the ground floor of our home, Wrecclesham House; a 15th century treasure that has stood for over 500 years. Ben fell in love with the building the moment he discovered its original bread oven (AND priest hole), as though it had been waiting all along to be shared with you.
On our journey to building a restaurant, we kept to a simple promise to ourselves: what’s in the house, remains in the house. We’ve embraced the heritage, restoring, reclaiming and reusing where needed, shaping the space with our own hands. It has been a true labour of love, a dream stitched into beams and bricks. And that dream, of creating a restaurant in our own home makes it fit for our name: maison. A place where history, food, and friendships weave together, waiting to be shared with you.
